New Pershing 6X

New Pershing 6X: born to win every challenge.

Compact, bold by nature and characterised by high performance. The new entry in the Generation X range had its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021.

New Pershing 6X impresses and excites with a brazen beauty and unrivalled aesthetic and technological innovation, qualities flaunted by the model with the effrontery of the chosen few. The new Pershing 6X expresses the boldest and most fearless side of the brand’s character, through a series of new features that reflect the unparalleled high standards of the Generation X range of models, with which the Modolfo-based shipyard defined a new paradigm for exciting cruising.
This model has all the right credentials to sail directly into the future: the sleek, streamlined design with a highly aerodynamic profile; an incredible 48-knot top speed; the technological innovations that ensure maximum comfort on board; the system that integrates propulsion control with the manoeuvring, navigation and monitoring systems to ensure maximum ease of operation.
18.94 metres (about 62 ft) long and 4.80 metres (about 16 ft) wide, Pershing 6X is the result of collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Group’s Engineering Department.
Pershing 6X joins Generation X as a protagonist by introducing some important new features. Natural light, for example, is a characterizing feature in every setting, guaranteed by the extensive glazed surfaces in the hull and fully opening rectangular portholes.
Carbon fibre detailing adds value to this stunning yacht, giving it an aggressive look while also contributing to the lightweighting process begun with the previous models in the range and involving the furniture and furnishings.

EXTERIORS

With exterior styling that shares the same family feeling as the other Generation X models, the new yacht turns heads with large outdoor areas featuring plenty of space for socialising. The main novelties include style features that clearly reflect Pershing’s approach to design in recent years, further improving functional and comfort-related design goals without affecting outstanding performance.

The garage in the stern can accommodate a Williams Turbojet 325 tender, with the hydraulically operated swim platform facilitating launch and recovery operations. On the way back to the cockpit through stainless steel gates, a distinctive feature of the yachts in the range, is a generously sized sun pad with an ergonomic backrest framed by a spoiler on the aft side. The seat on the forward side completes this spacious sun pad, which also provides easy access to the garage. The sun pad can be further extended by folding down the backrest of the forward seat. Opposite, the dining area is dominated by an L-shaped sofa seating up to eight people and a sliding and extending low table in soft touch carbon fibre, with a top that is also available in soft touch teak. Protected by the end section of the superstructure, the cockpit features a bar unit on the starboard side with a recessed sink and, on request, a grill and icemaker or fridge.

Also in this area is the entrance to the crew quarters, with a cabin and bathroom for one crew member.
The other outdoor areas are outstanding in terms of their aesthetics and functionality. Side walkways provide access to the bow area, which also features a generously-sized sun pad, followed by a separate chaise longue that looks out over the water and has a reclining, adjustable backrest for an unforgettable “water’s edge” experience. The stern and foredeck cushions are upholstered in fabrics by Sailmaker from the Mambo line. All the outdoor areas can be shaded from the sun by awnings.

INTERIORS

The main lounge is entered from the cockpit through a sliding door that forms part of a large and fully retractable glazed surface, a now famous feature of Pershing models that provides continuity between the exterior and interior areas, creating an extensive open space for guests to enjoy. The entire setting is flooded with natural light through extensive side windows and the large sunroof that can be opened above the starboard helm station, which has two separate pilot chairs upholstered in Potrona Frau “Interior in Motion” leather.

The helm station shares the same family feeling as the other Generation X models, with a new yacht wheel made entirely of carbon fibre, featuring leather trim and an all-new design.
On the port side, a C-shaped sofa completes the furnishings in the main lounge, positioned around an extending table for up to six guests. The possibility of raising and lowering the table transforms the dinette into an area for dining or coffee breaks. Opposite are the TV cabinet and storage compartments.

Designed as an alternation of smooth and undulating surfaces, the materials used for the interiors of the new 6X are in perfect Pershing style, with extensive use of plain and lacquered wood for the furniture, parquet floors and Mastrotto Group leathers, which are also used for the sofa cushions to create a play on contrasts between colours and materials.
On the port side of the helm station, a central stairway provides access to the lower deck aided by a handrail with an original design that curves organically to create the parapet behind the sofa. The first Pershing 6X unit has a layout with three cabins – master, VIP forward and guest starboard – and three bathrooms with separate shower. The version for the American market has two cabins – master and VIP – with a living space replacing the guest cabin.
On the left side of the hull is the galley, strategically positioned to benefit from various sources of natural light, including a ceiling window and a large porthole that can be opened.

On the starboard side is the guest cabin, with a bathroom that also acts as a day toilet and can be entered from both inside the cabin and the lobby on the mezzanine.
A few steps aft lead down to the owner’s area, a full-beam suite lit by natural light through a vertically oriented rectangular porthole offering a superlative panoramic view over the water’s surface. Positioned along the starboard hull side are the bathroom, split into three areas that extend across the entire width of the cabin, from which it is separated by two matt white sliding doors. In this setting too there is an unwavering focus on detail, like the spectacular bed head featuring an alternation between Zimmer + Rhode Tide wallpaper panels and sheet metal inserts. Mastrotto Group leather cushions round out this masterpiece of interior design, enhanced by horizontal LED light strips on the ceiling.
The VIP cabin is located in the bow, with the bed skewed at 45° to the starboard side, a solution that significantly increases the available space, creating a cabin with similar dimensions to the master stateroom on boats of the same size. Similar in style to the master cabin, it features the same play on contrasts between the materials used and the colour shades chosen, giving the space an exquisitely contemporary touch.

PROPULSION AND TECHNOLOGY

Pershing 6X confirms the outstanding performance standards set by the entire X Range: fitted with a pair of 1,550 mhp MAN V12 engines, the top speed is almost 48 knots and the cruising speed about 42 knots,
The helm station on the first unit consists of two 19-inch monitors in the same ultra flat dashboard, with carbon fibre control panels and two accessory tunnels fitted with throttles and joysticks on either side of the pilot chair. The standard version has a 12-inch and a 7-inch monitor. Pershing 6X has a unique advanced interface that integrates propulsion management with the manoeuvring, navigation and onboard monitoring systems. This technology is the result of the combined expertise of Top System, Onyx and Xenta, which developed the Easy Set propulsion management system and the steer-by-wire hydroelectric steering system, alongside Simrad Command navigation and monitoring systems. The new version of the EasySet system is the result of experience gained from the latest Pershing models. It optimises trim and performance when cruising and simplifies use of the surface propellers, which can be bypassed at any time to take manual control. Also available is an innovative joystick coupled to the surface drive and offering various advanced operating modes, including ‘easy handling’ for ground-breaking manoeuvrability in ports and confined waters. In addition to all this, the DPS (Dynamic Positioning System) maintains the boat steady in the same position even in strong winds or currents. This is the perfect solution when preparing to moor or refuel, or waiting for a bridge to open.
On request a gyroscopic stabilisation system can be installed to increase comfort at anchor.
