International Moth European Championship
International Moth European Championship in Maubuisson – 74 top-flight racers!
The International Moth European Championship runs from 20 to 24 June in Maubuisson (Bordeaux) in France.
France has the honour of welcoming no fewer than 75 competitors this year on one of the largest lakes in Europe with some x nationalities vying for supremacy.
Thanks to its foils the International Moth is a flying boat. This sports dinghy measuring 3.35 metres in length with a beam of 2.25 metres is a genuine development laboratory at the cutting edge of technology, enabling speeds never before reached on ‘conventional’ sailing boats. It’s the fastest sports dinghy in the world.
This European Championship is organised by Bordeaux’ Club de Voile with the support of equipment manufacturer Forward WIP. It gathers together top-ranking sailors including Chris Rashley, world number two and four-time European champion, and Ben Patton, number five in the world and Laser Radial world champion in 2007.
