Hanse 345 selected as Boat of the Year in Italy
Success abroad: the new Hanse 345 selected as Boat of the Year in Italy
In November in Milan, the Italian magazine selected the winners of its Boat
of the Year awards in several different categories. Hanse Yachts, based in Greifswald, Germany, set an international standard when the Hanse 345 won first prize in the Natante a vela (sailing boat) category.
Luxury and safety, without compromising its claim to the highest level of performance. All of this coupled with functionality and innovative design – that’s the new Hanse 345. The cruising yacht, which measures 10.44 metres in length, impressed countless visitors during its German premiere at this year’s International Boat Show ‘hanseboot’ in Hamburg. In future, even more sailing enthusiasts will begin to take notice of Hanse’s show-stopping design and
it will catch international attention too, as the Italian magazine Vela e motore named the Hanse 345 its Boat of the Year on 6 November.
The Italian test team was clearly impressed: in its statement it named the balance between speed and handling as just one of the benefits. A decisive advantage: the Hanse 345 optimally fulfils the easy sailing standards that Hanse sets itself. The yacht is perfectly suited for single-handed sailing thanks to its cleverly thought out controls for the halyards, sheets and reefing lines.
The interior decoration represents an intelligent layout design that satisfies the need for comfort whilst still being practical. According to the brochure, “the balance of aesthetics and practical fixtures has been achieved perfectly. A light, airy living space has been created that perfectly suits the size of the boat.”
“Of course we are delighted with this honour,” says Dr Jens Gerhardt, member of the Board of Managers for the Hanse Group. “The award takes on a greater significance for us as the statement given by the magazine Vela e motore explained that above all, it was our innovative concept that played a decisive role in the Hanse 345 winning the prize. It proves that we are on the right track with our daring and creative ideas.”
