“With two weeks to go until the Festival opens, we can’t wait to see our visitors and exhibitors. The Festival build started on 12 August. Everything is going well, the pontoons and tents are being set up to accommodate the boats and stands, thanks to the support of our partners and service providers,” said Festival Director Sylvie Ernoult, before adding: “As has been the case every year, the Cannes Yachting Festival gets the season underway by unveiling an extremely eclectic offer. We will be proud to welcome nearly 700 boats including 120 world premiers and 640 exhibitors . Our visitors will be able to see the crème de la crème of the marine industry, with the most famous boat builders and equipment manufacturers, as well as newcomers to the industry, who all come to present their designs.
The boat show will be organised between the Vieux Port and Port Canto with 355 new 12- to 45-metre motor boats in water with rigid or semi-rigid mono- or multihulls plus all the equipment manufacturers and service companies related to this industry on one side, and the sailing world on the other side in Port Canto, with 120 new monohull and multihull boats averaging 16 metres long, the brokerage sector with forty-five previously-owned boats from 25 metres long, and the water toys/toys area and the new Power Boat Marina, which will accommodate 175 boats under 13 metres.
As boat builders and equipment manufacturers are slowly but surely setting a course towards ecology and devoting a significant part of their budget to research and development, the increasing amount of eco-efficient innovations in the industry that respect the environment are promoted through the “Innovation Route” route, marked out by special signage for visitors to follow.
