Commercial success at Heesen Yachts
Commercial success at Heesen Yachts: Project Ventura is sold. The 50m all-aluminium yacht is due for delivery in 2013.
Heesen yachts is proud to announce the sale of Project Ventura (YN 16050) the third in the new 50m all-aluminium class, the first vessel of which, YN 15250 (the award-winning MY Satori) was launched in February this year.
YN 16050 is the fourth contract signed in 2011: in such a difficult economic climate this proves there will always be a market for superb quality and technical excellence, both qualities in which this Dutch superyacht builder excels. And by acquiring a yacht already under construction, the Owner has gained all the advantages of a new-build without the long lead-time. In fact Heesen currently has 12 vessels in commission, with three on speculation: deliveries run into 2015 with a total length of 584 metres.
With a Gross Tonnage of 499GT and a top speed of 23 knots Project Ventura is among the world’s fastest semi-displacement 50 metre yachts; her clean lines were designed by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects. Built on the experience of launching seventeen 44- and 47 metre custom yachts, the hull of this new 50 metre is currently the most efficient on the market. In consultation with Van Oossanen Associates, Heesen’s in-house naval architects created a sophisticated and highly efficient hard-chine hull. When combined with Heesen’s acknowledged weight reduction expertise and a pair of high power-to-weight ratio MTU 2.720kW engines, Project Ventura is able to deliver her excellent top speed as well as a very economical fuel burn and a particularly long range of 3.200Nm at 12 knots.
Acclaimed Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski and the Owner are responsible for the stunning interiors. Their highly stylised vision takes the concept of minimalism and applies it in a way that is elegant, chic and contemporary. The design is based on just two woods of contrasting colour and texture: richly patterned polished ebony for parquet floors and furniture surfaces, and whitened oak for the panelling. The immaculate standard of the Heesen-owned Oortgiese interior fit-out is highlighted by such a strong, minimalist design. A key feature of Project Ventura is the attention paid to integrating controlled ambient lighting. Every area of the yacht can easily be adapted to suit the mood and atmosphere of the moment. Project Ventura sleeps twelve guests in six cabins (with an additional cabin for the Owners’ private staff.) There are in fact two master staterooms: the first with a spectacular circular bedroom leading directly outside on the upper deck, ensuite with large walk-in wardrobes; the other full-beam on the main deck – this large, bright master bedroom is complemented by a full-beam ensuite bathroom and a separate study. A full-beam VIP suite, two double and one twin guest cabins are situated on the lower deck together with the twin staff cabin. Ebony floorboards and white oak panelling emphasise the exceptional amounts of space in all of the cabins with considerable storage and large wardrobes concealed within the design scheme.
The delivery of YN 16050, Project Ventura, is scheduled for Spring 2013 after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.
