YXT SUPPORT VESSEL
YXT ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION OF THE
YXT 20m SUPPORT VESSEL
The steel support vessel YXT 20m features a large 45 square meter deck, large enough for tenders and the other toys requested by the owner of the mothership.
The YXT 20 differs from the 24 in having a more traditional bow, not reversed, and is without the stern mounted beach club. The YXT 20’s interiors were designed by Franck Darnet of Franck Darnet Design. The yacht was conceived as a support vessel for superyachts ranging from 30 to over 70 meters. The YXT is propelled by two 715hp Cummins diesels giving her a range of 900 nautical miles. This unit is listed by Fraser yachts with an asking price of € 1,950,000.
Layout
The smallest member of the YXT “shadow boats” fleet will have a four member crew whose quarters include a galley, crew’s lounge and two twin cabins with baths, storage and laundry rooms, plus two large storage boxes with on-deck hatches, easy to access from the crew quarter as well, that can be used for (upon request) refrigerators, wine storage or as makeshift berths, depending on the final destination of the yacht.
Support equipment
Hoisting out is one of the primary activities requested of all support vessels. The YXT 20 is equipped with two cranes. The primary covers the deck area while the secondary the stern and also serves as the gangway. Each crane has a lifting capacity at a five meter extension of 1.7 tons and has a full 360° slew.
