Yamarin 81 Day Cruiser: The new-age day cruiser
The Yamarin 81 Day Cruiser represents a new generation in the Yamarin DC range. This premium‐class Day Cruiser was designed by the Norwegian Eker Design, one of Scandinavia’s leading design enterprises. Its patented underwater hull technology was designed by the Swedish Petestep®. The design and engineering teams of Eker Design, Petestep® and Yamarin joined forces to develop this innovative, unique boat which is based on a new, futuristic design and technology. In addition to its modern appearance and state‐of‐the‐art technology, the boat’s design criteria included a slogan reflecting the model’s practicality: “No design without functionality”.
The hull was designed by Eker Design, but its underwater part of the hull features a world class innovation, the patented Petestep® bottom. Yamarin boats have always been famous for their excellent handling characteristics and are now even better thanks to the Petestep® bottom solutions developed in boat racing. The new hull design enables a much smoother (vertical g‐forces) and quieter ride in rough seas, and delivers major improvements in fuel economy.
Studies show that consumers would appreciate more cruising comfort, which is why the new Yamarin 81 DC was specifically designed to meet just this need.
Because the 81 Day Cruiser focuses on passenger comfort, the wind shields on the boat’s side extend all the way to the aft bench, ensuring that all passengers – including those on the back seat – are comfortably sheltered from the wind. Special attention has been paid to the functional design of the pentry, which is equipped with a powerful gas stove, a drawer fridge, a sink and, most importantly, plenty of workspace. The sofa group in the open deck space includes two tables, which can be combined into one large table with places for up to 8 people.
The console features a 12 “plotter and, to meet today’s requirements, a mounting space for a tablet. A defroster blower has been integrated into the windscreen structures on the driver’s side to ensure good visibility. The fully automated trim system keeps the boat upright despite crosswinds, and facilitates planing. An ergonomically positioned smart trim control panel is equipped with a 3D gyro, 3D accelerator and 3D GPS. Since the trim system does not have a traditional wet surface, it has no fuel‐guzzling trim panels. Planing occurs at an exceptionally low speed and the threshold is virtually unnoticeable.
The spacious cabin has a large bed in the bow, thanks to ample storage space underneath the bed, it is quick and easy to prepare for day use after overnighting. The cabin sleeps four people. The WC is equipped with an electric flush toilet and a wash basin.
The bow features integrated dock steps, docking lights and navigation lights. And, even if a day cruise continues well into the night, an efficient LED headlight in a natural colour ensures a safe ride back home. Another novelty on this boat is the space provided for solar panels on the bow deck. Thanks to a twin battery system, the solar panels produce electricity even when the boat is docked.
The boat has a water‐skiing bracket, which doubles as the railing of the swimming platform. The synthetic teak deck is modern, stylish and easy to care for, and does not require the same level of care as a natural teak deck. The easy‐touse, two‐part canopy sports the same design as the boat. Dim‐out curtains are available, allowing the use of the back seat for sleeping. The mattresses provided in the cabin make a large double bed for two adults.
The overall colour scheme in the Yamarin 81 Day Cruiser is bright and elegant, with splashes of emerald details contrasting with calming shades of white and sand.
