Sciallino Yacht and Bani Shipyard perform together for the lovers of the sea
A “Club of shipbuilding craft Excellence” to overcome the localism: the recipe for economic recovery.
Milan, September 29th 2014. The development project of Sciallino Yacht www.sciallino.it focused from the beginning of the adventure undertaken by Carlo Bassi around the idea that the only possibility of the “small” Italian shipbuilding quality to compete in international markets was the “rallying call” around a common project of all manufacturing excellence in this industry, has today taken the first concrete step in the production and marketing partnership agreement signed with the Bani Shipyard www.nauticabani.it from Porto Santo Stefano (Monte Argentario, Grosseto), a renowned historical yard, which specializes in the construction of fishing boats and classy boats. The intention of Bassi and Sciallino Yacht is to “create” a club of excellence in shipbuilding craft and the best professionals, surpassing the localism and mannerisms of craftsmanship that in the past was a reason for success, but now are the main obstructions to the revival, creating an industrial system that offers the many shipyards of excellence work and joint systems of management, marketing and sales that are now the real common gap of all the “little” Italian shipyards.
The harmony is in the power of genius, Italic parallel lives. Sciallino and Bani have made the history of the Italian navy, dividing extraordinary primates that have imposed our shipwrights to the attention of the world since the Sixties. In fact, if the first one owes the “invention” of the shoes side of the stern, which later became a technique applied in the whole world, to Remo Bani is due, in 1961, the “invention” of the first planing hulls “mounted” on fishing boats that went to sea between the Argentario and the Isola del Giglio.
The boats of the new line Sciallino Yachts will be build out at the Bani Shipyard, launched with great success a few months ago. In a few months, the commercial success registered by the new models has secured a number of contracts that make it necessary, much earlier than originally planned, the initiation of strong partnerships with the best Italian shipyards, in order to ensure at the same time the development of new models, the delivery of the various orders and customer service throughout the Mediterranean and throughout the Northeast.
The future production of Sciallino Yacht, in fact, will be distributed in different districts of excellence, placed in strategic places for production quality, the proximity to markets related to Sciallino and the beauty of the territories. The operational headquarters in Monticelli Brusati, between Franciacorta and the Iseo Lake, one of the largest districts of the best Italian shipbuilding industry, will serve the customer market in Germany and Switzerland, historically big fans of the boats Sciallino and the lakes of our country and all the Northeast, while the Bani Shipyard, located in Tuscany, Argentario, in another district of excellence, will cover the center of the Mediterranean to the south, and the next “opening” in Liguria, where the history of goiter began, will be helpful to assist the whole “historical” Sciallino customers up to the French coast, as well as to propose our great boats to new customers from all over the north of Italy.
Paolo Lacchini, owner, together with his cousin Claudio, of the Bani Shipyard, is a great shipwright, the very expression of the tradition of Italian shipwrights goiters. As a child, Paolo marinated – verb with a double meaning more than ever – the school to help, curious and passionate, the master Remo Bani, whose art he suffered the fascination. For Paolo, who has eaten a lot of sawdust, producing boats is a necessity, something written in his DNA.
Carlo Bassi, President of Sciallino Yachts, said: “We feel dowsers, persevering in the research of the essence of excellence. And today we are proud to have signed as a first agreement, the one with the historical Shipyard Bani. We are also developing partnerships to have a base in Liguria. We have accelerated the progress of the operation and were surprised ourselves by all the demands of cooperation we are receiving. Our program, which is cultivated and produced steadily, comes from the aspiration to bring together the best professionals in the area with the intention to join forces to create brilliant and innovative projects.”
