OCEAN ALEXANDER 70E ON DISPLAY AT YACHTS MIAMI BEACH 2017
Alexander Marine – the fifth largest superyacht builder in the world – along with its EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTOR GIAROLI sas – presents a new Ocean Alexander 70e yacht that will be on display at Yachts Miami Beach, Collins Avenue, Entrance 3, Slip 201.
The 70E is the first model of Ocean Alexander’s new Evolution Series. Moreover, it’s the first production Ocean Alexander model to be built in the United States. The yacht is designed by Evan K. Marshall, world-renowned naval architect for megayachts. The new 70e incorporates luxurious details and amenities in a compact 21m yacht, which is designed to be handled by an owner-driver.
“She’s a heavily built, luxurious, high-tech and well supported yacht”, said Giampaolo Murzi – Giaroli President and Official importer for Europe, Russia and Turkey for Ocean Alexander brand. “The clients value the 70e’s powerful propulsion, comfortable interiors with enormous windows. Plus she is quiet and vibration-free. Like all other models of the brand, she is delivered with the inclusion in the final price of a turn key package, which is also appealing and much appreciated. The standard version has a hydraulic swim platform, a hardtop, IPS drives with joystick and more”.
The 70e is built at Merritt Island Boat Works in Merritt Island, Florida. The yacht has a vast main salon with a panoramic unobstructed view and filled with natural light. The salon is divided into two areas, a lounge aft and a fully equipped galley amidships. “The galley here is a state-of-art, it’s bigger than usually on a 70-footer”, commented Murzi. “Its location is perfect; it’s huge and very comfortable”.
The aft cockpit has a forward facing settee with a teak table, which, when chairs are added, comfortably seats six for dining, there is another open lounge at the bow.
On the lower level there are four large cabins sleeping up to 8 guests, including a roomy master suite with big windows that thanks to special construction allow greater visibility and incoming light. There is also an option to accommodate a crew member. The boat is specifically suitable for an owner who enjoys cruising behind the wheel in total safety and privacy.
The interior is bright and contemporary with a homely feeling. It combines various finishes and noble materials. Horizontal wood grain treatment makes the boat look larger. The 70e has an ample 12-metre long flybridge with a bar area, sun pad, outdoor galley and grill, dining zone, which is connected with a galley below, and an outside helm.
The 70e is not only a family boat but she has a strong sportive character. She is the first Ocean Alexander to be powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS1200 900-horsepower engines. In combination with dynamic exterior lines, sophisticated naval architecture and lightweight construction they allows the boat to reach 27 knots. The range at 15 knots is well over 300 nm. In addition, the boat is one of a few motoryachts in this size to be equipped with pod drives. They are more efficient than straight shaft drives and much more maneuverable at low speeds when a rudder has little effect. The swimming platform is able to carry a small tender and provides an easy access to the water. Giampaolo Murzi adds: “The 70e has Ocean Alexander’s hallmark safety and expert engineering, but its look is all new. At the same time the craftsmanship of the yacht’s exotic-wood paneling and cabinetry is the same superb quality that earned the brand an international reputation”.
