New Dehler 38
Until now only the drawing paper and the designers brains knew exactly how she will look like. “She will certainly become a really good boat”, as Raoul Bajorat the chief developer happily puts it. “We are all very proud of this initial project, here in Greifswald”, says project manager Karl “Kalle” Dehler.
By “her” we are obviously talking about the new Dehler 38 who will have her world debut at the Düsseldorf boat show in January 2013.
Theory is now a thing of the past. Real things are taking shape instead. Last Thursday hull number 1, 11,30m long and 3,75m wide, left the female laminating mould and was inserted into the Greifswald based production line. We are very excited to share this moment with you.
By looking at the first pictures one can clearly see the narrow and dynamic hull lines as well as her stretched maximized waterline. The hand laminated vinylester hull is built in full sandwich with a balsa core. The complete bonding of the structure frame has taken place, same as the lamination of all bulkheads.
The next step will be the implementation of the interior. Then the boat will be ready for the next interesting chapter: the wedding of deck and hull. This will take place in December.
The first Dehler 38 will be ready for her premiere on boot Düsseldorf in January 2013.
