Let’s Travel Tour 2024
Hit the road: Torqeedo kicks off its “Let’s Travel Tour 2024” with the “Rund Um” regatta on Lake Constance.
Let’s Travel Tour 2024-Torqeedo, the global market leader for electric mobility on water, will present its latest electric drive solutions for environmentally friendly boating at the Seglertage (Sailing Days) in Lindau, Germany, from May 30 to June 1. As part of the Lindau Sailing Days, more than 400 boats will participate in the “Rund Um” long-distance regatta. Participants race once around Lake Constance, with a time limit of 24 hours.
“The Lindau Sailing Days and the Rund Um regatta have enjoyed cult status for years,” says Fabian Bez, CEO of Torqeedo GmbH. “We are excited to provide international audiences and water sports enthusiasts with the chance to experience our Travel Family in action on Lake Constance, Europe’s largest drinking water reservoir. We aim to provide a unique boating experience with our emission-free electric motors. At the same time, we are committed to protecting and preserving significant natural areas like Lake Constance for future generations.”
Demonstration of alternative propulsion solutions for Lake Constance
Several institutions have set goals to eliminate the use of combustion engines on Lake Constance. They intend to reach this goal by 2035.
Torqeedo’s product portfolio includes systems to power a wide range of boat types, from small dinghies to yachts and commercial vessels such as passenger ferries. One of the aims of the Deep Blue inboard range is to retrofit fossil-fueled vessels with electric alternatives. The Deep Blue Battery 80, paired with Deep Blue electric motors, offers a fully integrated inboard propulsion system delivering up to 100 kW.
On the smaller side of Torqeedo’s product portfolio, the new Travel family is an innovative and environmentally friendly solution for water sports enthusiasts and boaters who want to switch to emission-free outboards today. Enthusiasts of higher power outputs find their electric motor of preference in the Cruise range, which lends itself to larger sports and sailing boats as fully submerged pod motors.
The light pleasure boat Chill by Swiss boat manufacturer designboats and Heinrich-Werft is a beautiful integration of the Cruise pod motor. The Chill combines the design of a classic sports car with modern electric technology and offers quiet and emission-free cruising with a range of up to 100 kilometers.
“The Chill is one of our latest developments in the recreational segment. Especially with pleasure boats like the Chill, we need to guarantee our customers maximum efficiency and reliability. In Torqeedo, we have found an experienced partner whose powerful motors offer us exactly that while enabling us to protect the waters on which we sail. We look forward to expanding our partnership with Torqeedo and shaping the future of sustainable boats of all sizes,” says Georg Wagenhan, Head of Production of Heinrich-Werft.
With its stand in Lindau, the Torqeedo team is starting a nationwide roadshow to Germany’s most famous water sports events, including Kieler Woche. To make maritime electromobility accessible to everyone, boaters can try out the motors during test drives at both events.
