Hat trick for Tommaso Spadolini at the World Yachts Trophies 2018
– The Italian architect and designer was awarded “Best Designer of the Year”
– The new 27-metre M/Y Freedom, built by Cerri Cantieri Navali and designed with the stylist Roberto Cavalli, won the “Most-Avant-garde Yacht” award, while Sirena 58, with interiors designed by Spadolini, was judged the “Revelation of the Year”
This was an unforgettable week-end in a memorable 2018. Tommaso Spadolini was awarded no fewer than three prizes during the gala evening of the World Yachts Trophies 2018, held in Cannes on 15 September. To begin with, the Italian architect and designer won the much-coveted award in the “Best Designer of the Year” category. “I am delighted with this unexpected but very welcome award,” said Spadolini as he stepped off the stage.
But the evening did not end there. The new CCN 27m Freedom, which he designed with the stylist Roberto Cavalli and that had its official début at the Cannes Yachting Festival, was given the “Most Avant-garde Yacht” special award.
Lastly, the new Sirena 58, from the Sirena Yachts shipyard, with interiors designed by Tommaso Spadolini, was judged “Revelation of the Year”.
The significance of these three successes in a row appears even greater when considering that Tommaso Spadolini is celebrating forty years of activity this year – here is confirmation that his “Timeless classic” style, with its sober, enduring and essential lines, is never out of fashion.
