Frauscher builds new shipyard in Gmunden
Gmunden, June 14, 2011. Frauscher shipyard started building a new shipyard in Gmunden at lakeTraunsee. As the company stated the new plant will be raised on an area of 35.000 square metres to work more efficient and to manufacture more and bigger boats. The foundation stone has been laid after the first cut in the spade.
The main objectives are increases in productivity in the boat building process as a result of the cooperation with Porsche Consulting. A subsidiary of the Stuttgarter sportscar manufacturer Dr. Ing. hc. F. Porsche AG, Porsche Consulting is primary oriented to optimize processes in the production of various manufacturers. The consulting company started working with Frauscher shipyard more than a year ago. In this time quality and production sequence has been improved significantly in the shipyard.
With the new building Frauscher wants to remain the international showpiece in boat building. Frauscher boats has always stood for outstanding design and sophisticated technology. The start of production in autumn 2012 will also demonstrate how boats can be manufactured smart and innovative. All operations and processes have been thoroughly evaluated and the result was that shorter paths were created and time-killing reoperations were eliminated.
Frauscher wants to tackle the international competitive situation and further advance as a competent point of contact for all enthusiasts of beautiful and innovative boats. The new shipyard improves handling of customers and suppliers to further ensure the positive business development Frauscher is heading!
The revenue of Frauscher shipyard will be at 7,5 Million Euros in 2011. With completion and start of production in the new plant the turnover shall increase to 12 Million Euros. Amount of staff members shall climb up from 35 to over 50. Total estimated costs for the new shipyard are about 7 Million Euros.
