Sergio Cutolo_Columbus 130 Sport Hybrid_launch (3)Premiere in Cannes for the new Darwin 96 Explorer ‘Stella di Mare’: the 30 meters Explorer yacht designed by Sergio Cutolo for Cantieri delle Marche that will be presented at the Cannes Boat Show 2013. The yacht maintains the Darwin series features, but it differentiates from the previous models of the same line particularly for the increased onboard volumes resulting in the possibility to dedicate more spaces to the crew, to the technical areas and to the guests: the VIP cabin has now almost the same volumes of the Owner’s Cabin, the main deck is considerably extended, as well as the guest cabin and the sundeck that has been enlarged up to 50 sqm.

Sergio Cutolo_CDM_Darwin96_StelladiMareThe garage itself is 10sqm bigger than the one on the Darwin 86, and contains also 4 bikes, 2 of them electric, with their recharge battery station. The Darwin 96 has a steel hull and a light alloy superstructure that can guarantee the maximum strength and durability, also considering the intense usage usually this kind of vessels are designed for. Launched on August 31th 2013 the new 40m Sport Hybrid, designed by Hydro Tec for the Neapolitan Palumbo Shipyard, will be officially presented at the next edition of the Monaco Yacht Show 2013. First exponent of the ‘Sport Hybrid’ line, the yacht represents the perfect mix between the sporty style and the elegant comfort of a megayacht, designed to offer high performance, while at the same time promising a low environmental impact. Hence the choice for an aluminum hull and superstructure so to limit the weights, thus optimizing the fuel consumption; even more effective is the decision to equip the yacht with a hybrid propulsion system, the possibility to add two electric engines, on top of the main ones, enables both to reach a maximum speed of 7,5 knots, when using only the electric propulsion, and to produce new energy when the main engines are running. Featuring a style that is both dynamic and sophisticated the yacht, distributed on four deck contemplates four guest cabin on the lower deck, a large living room on the main deck, exceptionally bright, tanks to the high windows that overlook the external terraces, followed by the Owner apartment . On the upper deck are located another smaller salon and a fully equipped sky lounge that can be enjoyed either for an outdoor party, or just for relax. Once again Sergio Cutolo is confirmed as one of the most innovative naval designer on the Italian market, able to offer always different and advanced solutions, whether it comes to design a small steel explorer, or to conceive fast and modern superyacht in aluminium; combining the most advanced technologies with an increasing great care for environmental issues. This attitude is proving to be successful, as confirmed by the well-established partnership with some of the biggest Italian shipyard, as well as the increasing number of project realized so far.
