Diversity of Moonen fleet further underlined
New Moonen Explorer hull arrives at yard Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has started outfitting the all-new Moonen 100 Explorer, developed together with Vripack Naval Architects. This exciting project is the fourth explorer-type superyacht built by Moonen after the 90′Commercial Break and 92′ Poseidon (2003) and the award-winning 114′ My Issue (2006). It reinforces the unique diversity of a yard that is currently building the fully custom 42-metre Sofia III (complete with three-man sub) and a new high-speed 82 Alu, and is busy with several refits. As construction continues apace on the  the exceptionally smooth lines of this robust exhibition-style vessel are becoming clear for all to see.
The yacht combines major fuel efficiencies with superior live aboard facilities for owners who are very involved in the build and looking forward to travelling the world in exceptional comfort after the launch in the spring of 2013.

“Over the past five decades, we have built up an impressive fleet of motoryachts that share the irreplaceable Moonen quality,” says managing director Emile Bilterijst. “The fact that we are able to offer entirely distinctive types of motoryachts such as explorer, high-speed, displacement and fully custom built- is exceptional in today’s market. And the way we create these superyachts for such a diverse group of owners in terms of nationality, age and sailing experience further reinforces our ability to offer premium Dutch quality at genuinely competitive prices.”

There is diversity in terms of size too. The timeless elegance of a Moonen is available in lengths between 65 and 150 feet (20 to 45 metres). “Cross-fertilisation is also possible between these categories,” adds Bilterijst. “For instance, clients could opt for a high speed custom yacht. No other yard of Moonen’s pedigree offers such a comprehensive variety of choice – and backs it up with past experience and current orders.”

The sheer diversity of the Moonen portfolio is being illustrated in a fun way by a partnership with Bols, the world’s oldest distillery brand. They have teamed up to create four cocktails that visualise the different types of yachts Moonen builds. These are then served by professional bar tenders at boat shows and other events, as those who were at Monaco may – or may not – remember!
