Following the recent announce of the acquisition of the iconic Rome based Shipyard Canados, we are glad to report that market has shown very intense interest coming from different regions of the world including Italy, France, Middle-East, Russia, South and North America.
Many clients as well as brokers having personal relationship with the new ownership feel confident in the future of Canados and its capacity to consolidate the key factors and unique approach that made it the only builder capable of producing “custom made” projects in the 23 to 43 meter range in hi-tech composites.
The best sign of this renewed confidence was the immediate sale of a Canados 90’ Open to a European client who will take delivery late March as well as various serious negotiations that have been engaged with clients from various difference countries.
ACTIVITY SINCE THE ACQUISITION
Phase 1 which consisted in initiating works in the shipyard has started with various upgrades of the assembly sheds that have already been completed. The marina and the haul out basin will soon be dredged to allow the refit and service activities to start sometime in April 2106.
In the meantime, the Canados approach of dealing direct with final clients with the help of brokers and customer reps is already supported with the opening of the first Canados’ Factory Office in Golfe Juan (F) at Port Camille Rayon, Cote d’Azur. This first in a series of factory offices opening on the marinas where clients are using their boats will not only allow clients to talk direct to shipyard associates but will also allow Canados owners to benefit from the factory services and assistance when and where needed.
In parallel, the technical and design office has been working intensely on new models that will be released all along the season until the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016.
AGREEMENT WITH CRISTIANO GATTO DESIGN TEAM
had prior experience with Canados designing the interior of a 108’ and a 120’ for the new ownership and comments: “Working with Canados requires discipline from a design standpoint in the sense we have to adapt some of our modern designs to traditional hand manufacturing that, nowadays, are rarely found anywhere. I must also say that it is very convenient to visit the shipyard during a project and jump from the boat under production to the 2,000 square meter joinery shed and discuss any details with Canados exceptional craftsmen”.
