CAMPER & NICHOLSONS YACHTING EXPANDS RANGE OF THE DAY CRUISERS AND INTRODUCES THE PLAN OF TWO SUPER YACHTS
Camper & Nicholsons Yachting – the renowned British boatyard founded in 1782, part of Nautor Holding Group owned by Italian enterpreneur Leonardo Ferragamo – expands the range of its day cruisers by launching the new 60 and 80 foot models in addition to the already existing 42 and 50 foot models.
It will be a limited edition range of yachts, custom made according to the owner’s requirements.
Furthermore, the company enters the long range yachts market with the projects of two new 32 and 40 meter yachts. The concept and the specifications will be previewed in September 2013 during the Monaco Yacht Show.
George Nicholson, Chairman of Camper & Nicholsons Yachting, a yachtsman from an early age and fifth generation of the Nicholson yachting dynasty, still races his Dragon actively and is one of the most experienced authorities in the superyacht world.
Federico Bennewitz, CEO of the company, has held management positions in Perini Navi, San Lorenzo and more recently in VSY where he built innovative and high quality super yachts from 60 to 70 meters.
The concept
Two centuries of tradition, combined with leading edge technology, have culminated in the creation of the exclusive range of power boats by Camper & Nicholsons Yachting.
Ideal both for a day at sea or for long distance cruising, the day cruisers and the long distance yachts have a well defined identity, distinguished by the harmonious lines, the maximum attention to comfort and seaworthiness.
Onboard, you can breathe the history of a legendary boatyard: craftmanship, choice of materials and interior layouts are key elements for a timeless elegance.
High-end technologies deliver unequalled performance both for short and long distance cruising and guarantee ideal manoeuvrability in whatever conditions. Sustainability and respect for the environment are also the corner stones of this project.
Day Cruisers
The 42’ Endeavour, the 50’ Velsheda – which will be launched in June 2013 in the Marina di Scarlino – and the 60’ Shamrockrecall the J Class yachts built by Camper&Nicholsons in the 1930’s to challenge for the America’s Cup.
The 80’ Gelyce is named after a range of power boats built by the company between 1910 and 1940. The boat has two engine options, one for long range (MAN V8 – 1000 735kW) with a cruising speed of 22 knots and one which is more powerful for fast range (Caterpillar C32 – 1622/1193 kW) with a cruising speed of 32 knots.

Long Distance Cruisers
The company’s intention is to redefine in a modern key, however respecting C&N’s traditions, the concept of cruising: the passion for the sea is always the main goal.
Reduced consumption, environmental considerations and safety in all conditions are implied in the design of a yacht that allows the owner to enjoy nature and stands the test of time.
32 meter entry level yacht and a larger option of 40 meter yacht are in development for the future.
