boot Düsseldorf 2019 The first luxury yachts are heading for the trade fair by river
In just a few weeks, the 50th anniversary boat will open its doors for the 50th time and the first superyachts are already travelling to the Rhine metropolis via one of the busiest waterways in the world – the Rhine. The ship’s crane “Big Willi” and his boss, crane operator Norbert Pilarski, are looking forward to the rainfall of the last few days and “Big Willi” as a real Carnival Fan from Düsseldorf is already “jeck” to roll back into the water. On 18 December, the heavyweight will be able to safely lift a total of five ships into the dry.
And “Big Willi” is no morning grumbler: Already at 8:00 a.m. he carries the Sunseeker 74 P, with 44 tons and almost 23 meters in length in his strong arms from the Rhine. The smart beauty from the British Sunseeker shipyard will find its place in the Düsseldorf exhibition hall 6 – home of the luxury yachts.
The second yacht (crane removed at 9:30 a.m.), proudly named Prestige 630 (Hall 6), comes from the French boat builder with the same name. The P630 model exhibited at boot Düsseldorf 2019 is from the “Flybridge” series. A flybridge is the outside steering position of a yacht with an attached bridge and a steering wheel, which also offers space for sitting and storage.
Coming from the Netherlands, the Steeler 65 S-Design (Hall 6) with the working title “Flyfish” will be lifted out of the water at 11:00 a.m. She is a sleek yacht with a semi-raised deckhouse and a flybridge.
Her boat home in hall 16 is the C57 from the Dutch Contest shipyard. The nimble, sea-blue sailing yacht heads for the shore at the exhibition grounds at 12:30 p.m.
At 2 p.m., the first crane day will be completed by the Sunseeker 86 Y (Hall 6), the heaviest and largest yacht of the day with 76 tonnes and a length of just under 26 metres.
