Benetti Now FAST
Benetti shipyard, the world’s leading builder of luxury superyachts, continues its mission to anticipate owners’ needs. Drawing on the company’s internationally renowned creativity and the broad range of technical skills gained over more than 140 years of leadership in the sector, the brand has extended its already numerous fleet by adding the new Benetti Now FAST designs to existing Benetti Now superyachts. Benetti Now custom superyachts over 50 meters, built from steel and aluminium, have aroused huge interest since their launch at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show and today they have doubled in number with the addition of the new FAST models.
To create the Benetti Now FAST models, the shipyard put together a team of internationally renowned engineers and designers: Omega Architects created the yacht’s aggressive, dynamic contours, Mulder Design handled the naval architecture, creating a high performance hull to cruise at speed in total comfort, and Team 4 Design – Enrico Gobbiworked to produce the finest expression of the Italian art of interior design.
The Benetti Now FAST designs offer a high level of customisation that continues the brand’s tradition of satisfying the needs and desires expressed by owners, offering them all the experience of a shipyard with 140 years of history. Extensive personalisation potential is offered on three different design levels: the exterior and interior layout – different versions with a closed sun deck or raised pilot house, but also custom layouts –, the highly flexible decor, and engines with various levels of performance.
The style of the interiors in all Benetti Now FAST superyachts is contemporary and luxurious while remaining understated, retains the distinctive features of Italian design, and enhances on board liveability. The three models have been designed in different styles, that can be adapted and applied indistinctly to each of the models.
The FAST project is for all owners who want a superyacht that has the volume and comfort typical of a displacement class yacht, but with more speed. The key feature of the designs is that they guarantee all the comfort found in the displacement category, plus superior performance and speed.
The Benetti Now FAST designs combine the characteristic elegance of Benetti yachts with more aggressively sporty lines, offering three different models: BF164’ (50 meters), BF184’(56 meters) and BF224’ (68 meters). Each model will also have an X variant (BF164’ X, BF 184’ X and BF 224’ X) to indicate the versions with a raised pilot house.
On the performance front, Mulder Design (a well-known name in the sector for its extensive hull design know-how) has created a hull that retains the space and comfort of a displacement yacht, while offering 30% better performance, as well as maintaining stability and reducing noise and vibration, partly as a result of the choice of a steel hull for the bigger models.
Faster cruising speeds translate into significantly shorter journey times, which is highly appreciated and sought-after by today’s owners.
Another point of strength of the hull in Benetti Now FAST designs is its significantly reduced draught compared with displacement superyachts, while maintaining excellent navigation parameters.
The optimisation work on the Benetti Now FAST hull is based primarily on research in three key areas: structure, strength and stability. The result of this approach is comfort, high speed, improved safety and reliability, and also reduced consumption.
