State-of-the art bluewater yacht Moody DS54 in the top four at ARC+
At the 30th Atlantic Rally for Cruisers – ARC+, the Moody DS54 “Mojeka” took second and fourth place respectively in the two parts in Group B. With 260 boats and 1,250 sailors taking part, including 40 children under the age of 16, the Moody DS54 powered through and took an excellent place. The owners crossed the Atlantic with the two future skippers and three other friends from Las Palmas via the Cape Verde Islands and reached the Caribbean island of St. Lucia after 3125 nautical miles.
The blue water trip across the Atlantic was only interrupted by a storm front and was extremely pleasant for the sailors. No wonder, as their Moody DS54 is equipped with all the luxuries we know from home: washing machine, air conditioning systems, electric hobs, 4 refrigerators, automatic coffee machine, WIFI satellite communication system, several flat screens and much more. For independence, for example in tropical regions, the luxurious deck saloon yacht is also equipped with a generator, solar panels and a water maker, so that your stay on board the Moody DS54 can be continued without limitations in even the most remote dream bays.
To make sailing longer sea crossings as comfortable as possible, the Moody DS54 is also equipped with electrically operated high-tech furling sails, which means that the sails on the “Mojeka” can be furled at the touch of a button, like during the storm front encountered in the ARC regatta. The excellent placing among the first four across the finish line also shows clearly that even a comfortably equipped Moody DS54 can always hold its own, even without a gennaker or spinnaker!
“The laminated sails worked so optimally during the 12-day Atlantic crossing that we could easily sail at speeds of over seven knots. When we crossed the finish line, it was clear to us that this unique sailing experience was made possible more by our wonderful ship than us”, stated the proud Atlantic crossers at the ARC+ final destination in St.Lucia.
