Work on the first unit of the CNI entry level Baby line is rapidly progressing as per building timetable. The 13 meter aluminum yacht is created by designer Luca Dini.
As of today the first unit is completely assembled with painting and fitting out underway. Construction has begun on the second unit.
Baby N°1 will be launched in early July 2015. World premiere for selected clients first at the Costa Smeralda, then in the prestigious international showcase of the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8th to the13th 2015, where it will also be available to the press for sea trials.
The CFD results for the Baby’s hull lines are excellent. This gives us the possibility to use, based on need, three different kinds of transmissions (stern drive, propellor shaft, surface drive), without compromising performance in the least. The first two units will be equipped with stern drives, while the third will have propellor shafts with steel super-cavitating surface propellors, coupled to the new Yanmar 6LY440’s.
The aluminum alloy chosen is Series 5000: with a principle element of magnesium, it guarantees exceptional corrosion resistance, especially to marine corrosion, in addition to its exceptional qualities as a ductile material for welding.
We are impatiently awaiting the debut of this new jewel of the sea, completely made in Italy. Her elegant characteristics include the streamlining of all protrusions that leave her unencumbered with accessories that disturb her lines. The controls on the bridge are completely new. Developed by the technical office of the CNI in collaboration with Naviop, the instruments are state of the art and set in a smooth single block, with only the wheel emerging. A seriously high tech instrument panel – innovative, integrated, automated – designed specifically for the owner who wants to be free to use the yacht without a skipper, in complete privacy. The controls will therefore be logical and intuitive, totally digital. It will also be equipped with the best safety systems to deal with any problem arising at sea, allowing the owner to always have control of the vessel even in dangerous situations.
Further new features are the hydraulic gangway, 110 cm long and 90 cm wide, especially designed by the yards technical office and tailored to fit the Baby.
