PSP LOGISTICS CELEBRATE VICTORY AT BRAZILIAN PRIZE GIVING
The crews in Rio have been enjoying a Brazilian welcome with a traditional barbecue and caipirinha cocktails at the Race 2 prize giving. Last night saw the skipper and crew of PSP Logistics celebrate their first victory of the Clipper 13-14 Round the World Yacht Race at the event at Marina de Gloria. Skipper Chris Hollis and his team, Pete Stirling and Jamaica Get All Right and Eric Holden and Henri Lloyd received pennants for first, second and third place respectively after an extremely close battle for the podium. “I’m so proud of our first podium position of the race. I think this is going to be the first of many,” Chris said. As well as getting their yachts ready for Race 3 to Cape Town, South Africa, on Saturday 12 October, the crews have also been enjoying sightseeing around Rio. The remaining members of the fleet will arrive over the next two days with Team Garmin expected on Tuesday afternoon followed by Switzerland, Mission Performance and Invest Africa before Wednesday afternoon.
