Shipyard Pedro-Boat delivers first H2home’s
The first units of a series of H2homes, have been delivered to the customer. Shipyard Pedro-Boat introduced the floating bungalow some months ago at the boat show in Berlin. As of today, the units are for rent at a charter company on the Müritz and in Berlin.
Fully booked
Yacht charter Römer received the first boats. His charter company has a branch in Buchholz, on the Müritz and in Hennigsdorf near Berlin. The H2homes can be chartered from both locations.
In November 2011 both companies jointly exhibited the product at the Boot & Fun in Berlin. Since then, bookings for the H2home have been constantly received by the charter company. Manfred Römer, owner of the charter company said:” We are waiting for a number of units from the shipyard more to come, which will be delivered during this summer. We really need these, as everything has been fully booked. Only some less popular weeks remain open for charter. That occupancy of the boats would be high, I expected. But that it would be this good, I did not dare hope in advance”.
Popularity has much to do with the low threshold it generates for clients in the charter branche. People with few experience in watersports and who might not be confident to charter a motor yacht, easily rent a H2home. The manageability looks simple, it is easy to handle and steer, and those used to renting a holiday bungalow do not need to give in to comfort. The charter company widens therefore its audience.
“And it is different from a standard motor yacht, as there are many suppliers of that,” says Römer. “People would like to charter something different in order to tell their friends and families about”.
Further development
Pedro-Boat is already busy to further develop the H2home. There will be an electrical version with propulsion via shaft in both floaters, and which will be charged by solar panels. Also there will be an option to make use of the roof as a terrace.
Basis for the shipyard is to produce a H2home that keeps having good manoeuvrability and which is made of maintenance free materials. For the charter branche, this will be important points when deciding for extending the charter fleet.
