The Royal Prince hoists the 25th Blue Flag in Noordwijk (NL)
At Noordwijk Beach 25 years of Blue Flag in theNetherlandswas celebrated today. A spectacular rescue show at sea, in the air and on the beach in front of the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin. The Royal Prince Willem-Alexander was hoisting the Blue Flag.
Beaches andMarinas, as well as tourists attach much value to this international quality test.
The Blue Flag is an international voluntary eco-label yearly awarded to safe and clean beaches and marinas. Clean bathing water, good sanitary provisions and a large amount of safety belong to the conditions which are taken into consideration for awarding the quality mark. This year there have been awarded 140 Blue Flags in theNetherlands. The representatives of these selected beaches and marinas have put symbolically a flag in a sand sculpture of theNetherlands, there where their own beach or marina is situated.
