The Tonnerres de Brest 2012 : AN INTERNATIONAL MARITIME FESTIVAL PAR EXCELLENCE
From the 13th to 19th July 2012, Brest is the place to be for everyone who loves the sea and maritime heritage. For nearly a week, thousands of sailors and hundreds of boats of all sizes will take part in the Tonnerres de Brest 2012 international maritime festivities. A living, universal exhibition for the sea and the maritime realm. Truly enchanting!
From Tall Ship to historical replicas, working boats to gigs, from dinghy to majestic three- masted barques, from tug to cruise liner, from ship’s boy to old salt, from Navy captain to professional skipper, all kinds of fleets and seafarers will meet up in the docks of Brest to share a marvellous moment of discovery and exchanges.
In the purest seafaring tradition, the show will be everywhere, on land and sea alike, in daytime and night-time. During the day, the ballet of boats in Brest’s bay and roadstead will be spectacular; quayside, the exhibition of these gems of international maritime heritage will hold an invitation to travel and the theme-based demonstration areas and shows will enchant young and old alike all week long.
