AC CHAIRMAN VOTED AMONG TOP SPORTING INNOVATORS
Richard Worth, the Chairman and CEO of the America’s Cup Event Authority has been named one of the top innovators in sports for 2011 by SportBusiness International, for his work with the 34th edition of the Cup.
Worth was ranked fourth, behind Nasser al-Khelaifi, the president of Al Jazeera Sport and chairman of French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG); Dana White the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Hassan al-Thawadi, the general secretary of the Supreme Committee for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He was ahead of National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell in fifth. Also voted in the top ten were UEFA president Michel Platini and IMG Media president Michel Masquelier.

Last month SportBusiness International subscribers compiled a shortlist before an expert panel, chaired by SportBusiness Group editorial director Kevin Roberts, ranked the sport industry’s most innovative players according to their contribution to the industry in 2011. Judges included Synergy CEO Tim Crow, Traffic Sports Agency president of international business Jochen Losch, Associated Press newsman Barry Wilner, Rushmans founder Nigel Rushman, Fox International Sports Channels senior vice-president Peter Hutton and Rory Squires, director of Squires Media.
